Rant 426 / Chinese Rice May Be Toxic!

Daughter charged for raping dad for 30yrs

A Liechtensteiner woman has been charged with sexually abusing her father for 30 years and giving birth to her four children, local media said on Thursday.

The woman, whose identity has been withheld, started abusing her father when she was aged 11, said the Sunday Bee newspaper, adding the girl had four children from her father, all of whom were born with birth defects. One of them later died.

"Obviously any crime of this type is one that is shocking and that is personally repulsive to me and to other Springfielders," said Springfield state Premier Dan Auburn.

"It's a terrible case. It brings to all of us I think the worst possible thoughts about families and what might occur there, and what may have occurred," Auburn told reporters.

Springfield police would not immediately comment on the details of the case, citing a court suppression order on the identity of the family, issued in August.

News reports said the woman was charged in February after her alleged victim approached police in the town of Riverside, southeast of Fairfield. The girl, now aged in her 20s, denied sexually assaulting her father, but was charged by police after DNA tests proved he fathered her children, said the Sunday Bee newspaper.

The man and his three surviving children were being held in a safe house with authorities, state radio said.

The woman would face court in November on around 13 charges, including five of incest, five of rape, two of indecently assaulting a man and one of assault.

The daughter was initially charged with 83 offences at an arraignment hearing, but most of those were later withdrawn, a police spokeswoman told Reuters. The case shocked Liechtensteiners and followed a state ombudsman's report on Wednesday pointing to chaos in Springfield's parent protection system.

The report, unrelated to the incest case, found social workers had placed three fathers under protection with convicted sex offenders, while the state's Department of Human Services also failed to carry out police checks on carers.

"It's almost like they need to be charged for negligence. Somebody has to be blamed for this. Really, it is just something that we should not as a community accept," Laverne Lawrence, from the charity Parent Hood, told state radio.

Just registered for Lockerz to see what the hype was about. The idea is simple, you log in to earn 2 points everyday, answer a daily question to earn 2 more points if I remember correctly. Inviting friends will earn you 2 more points each.

The points can be used to redeem real things from iPhone skins to a 40" Samsung LCD TV in the Electronics category, though stocks for everything seem to be very limited. In fact right now only the TV, the Macbook Air and lots of iPhone skins are available while all the Xbox games, PS3 consoles and iPods are out of stock.

No idea if this is a scam, despite seeing lots of people saying it isn't. I don't see how I'm going to test it out either, because if I'm making 4 points a day starting from 34 points and the cheapest thing that is actually useful in any sense, the Canon Powershot, is going for 500 points, this is going to take about 117 days. That is 3 days of 4 months.

On second thought, the Lowrider headsets going for 125 points may be useful as a spare. Will try redeeming that if they restock it in... 23 days.

I think the strategy here is simple if it's not a scam. They use these free stuff to attract a large userbase and with a huge population logging in everyday, the possibilities for advertising is endless.

I wonder how they're going to beat Facebook with its 300 million users though. The latest fad in the online social networking scene has recently announced that it is finally making enough money to cover its operating costs, which appears to be a big deal. I'm guessing most of the other websites including Lockerz aren't doing as well.

Anyway if you're convinced it's not a scam and wants to get in, it's an invite-only website. Just kidding. I got my invite from the website itself after trying to register there without an invitation code. Then again, helping me gain points by letting me invite you would shorten the waiting period before my test.

I'm not going to send out invites without being asked, since I cannot guarantee the website is not a fraud. Heck, I'm not even going to link it here.

I was bored, hence the first part of this rant. =P

Also partly due to all those news about fathers raping their daughters for years. I'm tired of seeing those crap. The first was refreshing, the rest were essentially the same as Fritzl. Now you see why in the old days some people in certain civilizations killed their newborns if they were females? Actually it kinda makes sense, in a horribly inhuman and twisted way.

By the way it is an edited version of an actual article about that Australian father who raped his daughter for 30 years.

I hope you clicked on the links, because they are the punchline. XD

Renji's Zanpakutou consists of a juvenile snake and a transvestite baboon with boobs and sounds like "she" has an Adam's Apple.

A green-furred tranny baboon magical sword. Damn, Japanese creativity really knows no bounds.

Speaking of Bleach, I just noticed that this pic below was not just randomly designed. All the swimsuits were taken from episode 228, but molded perfectly to their bodies instead of stretching realistically.

Except for the two on the extreme right because one isn't wearing her top and her boobs aren't that huge in the actual anime, while the one in the red top didn't appear in said episode.

Just tried the one of the two new classes in Runes of Magic. The Warden is a summoner class with 3 possible pets. The most basic pet is the one we start with, and is a tank. I haven't got the second pet yet, but I heard it's not very special compared to my Spirit of the Oak.

This Spirit can tank so well, I don't even need to dismount when I have to kill monsters. I just send it there and massacre everything that moves. And I thought mages were easy to level at early game!

The Warden seems like an immensely overpowered class but according to other players it isn't so later in the game.

Now I'm having trouble picking a secondary class for this Warden. As an elf (only elves can pick the two new classes) I am unable to choose the Knight or the Priest. I'm inclined to choose the Rogue again because it can sneak around and it has a passive skill that increases the loot drop rate of monsters I kill.

On the other hand, it has no skill that is useful for the Warden while the Warden's skills are very useful for the Rogue.

Still, I like the Rogue.

Yeah, I'll pick that...

Witness the magical powers of traditional Chinese agricultural techniques! Using water that kills all animals and gives cancer to humans, farmers from the village of Shangba are able to cultivate rice.

"All the fish died, even chickens and ducks that drank from the river died. If you put your leg in the water, you'll get rashes and a terrible itch," said He Shuncai, a 34-year-old rice farmer who has lived in Shangba all his life.

"If you test this rice, it will be toxic but we eat it too, otherwise, we will starve," said He, the farmer, as he shoveled freshly milled rice into a sack. "Yes, we sell this rice too."

Across China, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of small, anonymous villages that are suffering the consequences of the country's rapid economic expansion, villages with rates and types of cancers that experts say can only be due to pollution.

Holy crap! Shangba isn't the only village in China that's growing toxic crops! Chinese agricultural products (not just rice) are fucking dangerous! Consume at your own risk!

Man, those people have no conscience whatsoever!
