Rant 1268 / In Times Of Change, You See Reality.

05th Nov 2021

Shortlisted. Wonder where this will lead. Had a call the other day while I was out and occupied, so when I could barely hear the person on the other end, not to mention she was speaking in Mandarin, it seemed safe to assume she was trying to sell me something, hence I hung up. Now I hope she wasn't from there.

...

Nvm, got the email.

November. Got to get a kitchen hood.

09th Nov 2021

It's weird but the promotions for 11/11 don't seem any better than the ones in July - the price of that kitchen hood went as low as about S$370 back then and yet right now it looks like it will only hit S$420 max, if at all. It is as if the companies have run out of steam now.

Well, just like myself, I guess.

So the lecturer didn't "like" me by mistake on the app - she actually replied to my greeting today! Definitely way out of my league but this time I am not going to say that because it always seemed to ruin any chance of success.

Never imagined myself asking a lecturer out for a date though. This is new in so many ways.

But again, this is just like how it was before the last relationship - I'm getting too excited over what is only a possibility.

And she collects tea sets! I would have gotten one or two too if I were a tea drinker. They're easy to find, second hand, very beautiful ones.

Just realized Nestum Original is just 112cal per packet. My meal replacement shakes are 100cal, so there isn't much of a difference, while the prices have a huge gap between them - meal replacement shakes go for about S$24 per 13 servings while Nestum Original is about S$4.85 per 18 servings.

Question now is how long Nestum can stave off hunger as compared to meal replacement shakes, so I'll be trying it out sometimes.

Seems that sugar-free non-fat natural yogurt can help make fruits last longer in my stomach without adding too many calories - 125g of it is only 61cal. A 1kg-tub of it is $7.50 normally, so $7.50 can last 8 meals, or about $0.94 each. Very reasonable, in line with the usual prices I am willing to pay for fruits ($10/kg max)

Certainly helps provide some variety.

Oh wow it's been a while.

Handing the unit back to the landlord today, probably. That's it.

Moving heavy boxes is a much more effective back workout than lifting weights, it feels. After helping to bring about 110 boxes of my stuff from outside my door to the room, I felt a dramatic improvement the following day during my workout, probably linked to the bad ache I had after dealing with the boxes. Glad that it was a muscular ache instead of something else. Sometimes it's hard to tell by the feeling.

I think I might get some boxes to lift as a workout in the future, although it can be likelier to injure me. Was never planning to keep doing Body Beast like I did for P90X and X3 since bodybuilding isn't my goal, and lifting boxes train all the practical muscle groups which has always been my goal together with losing weight. Body Beast doesn't help with losing weight either.

Happy New Year.

Decided to finally ask MOHH about the interview result notification last Friday, and today it was replied with the acceptance letter from a cancer hospital. Going to be a nurse now.
