Rant 846 / Gold Exceeds US$1900/oz

Just started using disposable paper filters for my coffee. Takes forever to get my cup of coffee but the results have been fantastic.

Much better than the reusable linen filter. Totally going to stop using the linen filter. Screw the environmental crap.

I used to have the impression that pirated games are produced when someone either bought/stole a physical copy and cracked it, or someone on the inside sold a copy to the crackers.

Apparently there's also another explanation - the game company's servers were hacked. According to The Art of Intrusion, once a hacker is deep into the system to the point where he gains admin privileges, absolutely nothing will get him out short of taking the entire system offline, reinstalling everything and changing all the passwords.

The author himself was in a company's system for eight years before he was finally removed... but only because the FBI had arrested him for other crimes.

Also, non-Latin symbols make excellent passwords, eg Cyrillic letters.

LKY tells us not to turn the political divide into a national divide, and that we should stay with our meritocratic system.

I think he's talking to his son.

Healthcare is going to be the next big thing in China, if it isn't already.

The thing about newly wealthy people is that there is always something they're unable to control once they have money. I'm speaking from personal observations of course.

For a lot of the poor in Asia, food is the most important thing in life.

Therefore, they won't be able to control their appetites when they suddenly become filthy rich.

Slavery the Game.

Wait what?

I can't believe this game is going to be made at all.

Is it some kind of marketing gimmick?

Okay, so Deus Ex: Human Revolution wasn't as interesting as I thought after a while. Well polished, yes, but that's about it.

For some reason, I'm finding League of Legends more interesting than this game.
