Rant 995 / It Just Keeps Getting Cheaper.

Expedia isn't the cheapest option I have.

I did a comparison of prices using the dates close to the ones I have in mind for my Shanghai trip and the result was that I could save S$100 by using two other websites.

From Expedia.com.sg:

From Cheaptickets.sg:

From Tingo.com:

Exact same flight, exact same hotel, exact same room type, breakfast not included in both Expedia and Tingo.

Price from Expedia: S$923.04

Total price from Cheaptickets and Tingo: S$522 + 4(S$71) = $806.00

EDIT: Tingo is using USD, so the price in SGD should be around $92 per night, raisng the total to S$890, which is still $33 cheaper.

So if Greece leaves the EU, it's going to hurt itself a lot. Nobody is going to trust the currency the central bank issues in its current financial state, so the moment it does, the entire country is going to do a bank run on day one. I know I would if I were a Greek.

As for the rest of the EU, this is going to set a very bad precedent far too early. The EU was established only in 1993, making it just 19 years old, and the euro's issued in 1999 which means it's only 13 years old. For something that's meant to be permanent, 19 years might as well be just a blink of an eye.

The EU wasn't meant to be an union in which members can come and go as they please or when the economic situation is bad.

This is just one of those events that will either shape the EU into what it will become for a very long time, or break it.

Just learnt that having the mouse set at max speed on Windows only makes me less accurate.

According to the Liquipedia article on mouse settings, for each unit length (as set in the mouse) moved by your hand, the cursor moves a single pixel when the speed is set at the 6th point out of the 11 on the mouse speed bar in the Mouse options in the Control Panel.

When I set it higher, the Windows simply skips pixels to increase the distance the cursor moves. For example at 7/11 the cursor would move 1.5 pixels, meaning it skips half a pixel for every mouse count.

Hopefully I can now shoot better. Every pixel counts when you're shooting things from afar.
